Solid Oak Flooring

Our client for this project wanted to remove all the skirting boards and have the walls running straight down to the new oak flooring.

I originally thought that the extra cost and work of cutting in an expansion gap within the walls would not be worth the finished result, but as you can see from the pictures the removal of the skirting board looks really good.

With solid oak floors, clamps are used to hold the boards together, helping eliminate slight twists or bows within the boards.

The above pictures show the chiselled expansion gap and the newly plastered wall finish before being painted.
